Luvox Product Description


Drug Uses

Luvox is a subtype of antidepressants, known as SSRIs. Drug is designed for short-term management of various mental states and is used to reduce symptoms of:

  • Recurrent episodes of depression (up to 6 weeks)
  • Unhealthy patterns of behavior or obsessive compulsive disorder (up to 10 weeks)

Controlling of mental disorders symptoms provides for taking 50 to 300 mg of Luvox per day. High daily doses should be taken in two divided doses, in the morning and in the evening. If the doses are not equal, the highest of them should be taken before bedtime.

Missed Dose


If you remember that you’ve missed a dose of Luvox, take it immediately. If it is almost time for your next Luvox intake, skip the missed dose of this antidepressant agent and take the next tablet at the prescribed time.


More Information

If the expected antidepressive response is not achieved within 7-10 weeks, the duration of the treatment with Luvox pills can be increased. The daily dosage should be gradually reduced, when the treatment is coming to an end.


Storage

Luvox is recommended to be kept in a tightly closed container out of reach of children. Store this antidepressant tablets at 15°C to 30°C and protect from high humidity.

Warnings

Luvox pills can be prescribed to teenagers and children over 8 years only in case of obsessive compulsive disorder. The antidepressive response in these patients should be closely monitored, especially at a dosage increase.
