Clarinex
Clarinex is an antihistamine, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory drug in the form of tablets. Selectively blocks peripheral histamine H1 receptors. It is used for symptomatic therapy of seasonal and all-year-round allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Product Description
CLARINEX (desloratadine) is a long-lasting antihistamine, which functions as a blocker at the peripheral histamine H1 receptors.
Clarinex is used to facilitate and prevent the symptoms of allergic reactions, reduce skin inflammation and relieve itching. Clarinex decreases permeability of vassals, prevents swelling of tissues, reduces spasm (hypertension) of unstriated muscles.

Indications
-seasonal (pollinosis) and continuous allergic rhinitis (relief or remediation of the symptoms such as sneezing, stuffy nose, runny nose, itching of the nose, itching of the palate, itching and redness of the eyes, watery eyes)
-chronic idiopathic urticaria (long-term itching)
(reduction or remediation of skin itching and skin rash)
How to take Clarinex
Adults and adolescents aged 12 or older should take 5mg of desloratadine once a day, regardless of the meal, preferably always at the same time.
The tablet must be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not chew the pills.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to ingredients of medication;
- pregnancy;
-lactation (breastfeeding);
-children under 12 years old;
- hereditary diseases (Fructose intolerance, malabsorption of glucose/galactose or sucrose/ isomaltase deficiency in the body) due to the presence of sucrose and sorbitol in the composition of syrup.
Clarinex is prescribed cautiously to patients with severe kidney failure.
The use of the medication during pregnancy is not recommended due to the lack of clinical data on the safety of its use in this period.
Excretion of Desloratadine occurs via breast milk, hence the use of Clarinex during the breastfeeding is not recommended.
If taken as recommended, Desloratadine will not affect ability to drive or operate machinery.
Side effects
Desloratadine may cause Undue fatigability (1.2%), dry mouth (0.8%), headache (0.6%).
From the side of vascular system: very rarely – tachycardia, palpitation.
From the side of digestive system: very rarely – raised liver enzymes, raised concentration of bilirubin.
Allergic reactions: very rarely – anaphylaxis, rash.
